ALMUTH AND RITA 1
Newly retired dentist Dr. Almuth Seegers meets her cleaning lady Rita for the first time. The temperaments of the two women couldn't be more different and so the reserved doctor and the cheeky chatterbox from East Germany initially clash violently. But little by little, Rita manages to lure Almuth out of her shell and an unusual friendship develops between the two.

A year has passed since Rita and Almuth have become friends. But now Rita is facing hard times. Almuth stands by her side, but has problems of her own: Her daughter wants to leave her unfaithful husband and moves in along with her two children. Meanwhile, Rita is struggling with financial worries, but is too proud to ask Almuth for help. A big row is inevitable. Can the women still salvage their friendship?
