Jack is ten years old and hasn't been in the children's home long. He is really looking forward to the summer vacation. But on the last day of school, his mother Sanna does not pick him up. She calls and puts him off. Jack is left alone with Danilo and the social care takers. During a fight Jack injures his roommate. Frightened, he runs home to seek protection from his mother. But no one opens the door for him. Sanna is not there. After Jack picks up his six-year-old brother Manuel from a friend's house, they set off together in search of their mother.
